Application
Thermiqa® is applied exclusively using professional equipment designed to precisely control the mixing of components.
With Thermiqa®, the thermal insulation of double-wall structures becomes a fast and non-invasive process. Thanks to BASF technology and dedicated machinery, the installation is safe, accurate, and delivers immediate results in terms of living comfort and energy efficiency — without demolition and without disrupting daily life inside the building.
THREE STEPS, ONE GUARANTEED RESULT
Step 1 – Preparation
The certified Thermiqa® installer performs a preliminary inspection and identifies the optimal points to drill small holes in the wall (average diameter 12–16 mm). These holes are essential to ensure uniform distribution of the foam within the cavity. The operation is quick, precise, and does not compromise the stability or aesthetics of the walls.
Step 2 – Foam Injection
Through the Thermiqa® equipment, the three components (Template, Filler, and Cross-linker, with the addition of water) are mixed in real time, generating a stable mineral foam. This mixture is injected into the cavity, filling every space and creating a uniform, continuous insulation layer. Thanks to its mineral, non-combustible formulation, the material is both safe and long-lasting.
Step 3 – Sealing and Finishing
During the application, an infrared thermographic camera is used to verify in real time that the foam has completely filled the cavity without leaving any voids or uncovered areas. At the end of the process, the customer receives a certified thermographic report documenting full cavity coverage. The holes are then sealed with mortar or plaster, restoring the wall to its original appearance.
Dedicated Application Technology
Thermiqa® installation is not performed with generic tools but exclusively through equipment specifically developed for this technology.
The three components (Template, Filler, and Cross-linker, with the addition of water) are precisely dosed and combined, eliminating manual errors and ensuring a homogeneous foam.
Controlled pressure and the injection system ensure that the foam reaches every corner of the cavity, adapting even to complex geometries and thin spaces (down to 4–5 cm).
All mixing takes place in a closed circuit: no direct contact with the components, no release of dust or fibres, and zero risk for both installers and building occupants.

Application FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions about the Application
Do I need to leave the house during the work?
No. The process is non-invasive, the holes are small in diameter, and no dust or debris is created. It is possible to continue living in the house as normal.
How much does the house get dirty?
Almost not at all: the installer uses local protection systems, and the holes are sealed once the work is completed. There are no irritating materials or airborne fibres.
Could the foam leak inside the house?
No. Thanks to the dedicated equipment and infrared monitoring, the foam remains completely confined within the cavity.
What certifications does Thermiqa® have?
The material is ETA-19/0240 certified by DIBt and has achieved EMICODE EC1 Plus classification for its very low emissions. It is also non-combustible (class A2-s1,d0).
How long does it last?
The foam is mineral-based and does not collapse: it maintains its properties for over 50 years, far longer than traditional insulating materials.
Is the insulation reversible?
Yes, in case of future renovations, the walls can be safely removed since the material is mineral-based and can be disposed of with normal construction waste.
